A flight of American Airlines from Greece to United States suffered “severe turbulence” shortly before landing Saturday.
Yesterday, the American Airlines Flight 759 from Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” to Philadelphia International Airport, with 287 passengers and 12 crew members on board, was affected by a severe turbulence 30 minutes prior to landing.
According to some passengers, the turbulence lasted for about 15 seconds.
After the flight landed safely at 3:10 p.m. local time, three passengers and seven crew members were taken to a hospital for evaluation.
“We are taking care of our passengers and our crew members at this time and want to thank our team members for keeping our passengers safe,” American Airlines said in a statement.
