Both routes are part of the international expansion of the Chilean airline.
The airline Latin American Wings (LAW) reported that will fly from Santiago to the US cities of Miami and New York since January 2018, as part of what it considers its international expansion plan.
The routes between the Santiago Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL) and the airports of Miami (MIA) and New York (JFK) will have a stop at Caracas Maiquetía Simón Bolívar International Airport (CCS). In this way, the airline will take advantage of the current existing traffic in the way between Santiago and Caracas already operated by it, as well as the strong ethnic movement between Venezuela and the United States for the way between the Caribbean country and the American cities.
Latin American Wings already has from the month of March, a partnership with the Venezuelan airline Estelar for all it referred to the commercialization of the operation in Caracas, which will allow to overcome the challenges that represents the current situation in Venezuela.
“The materialization of these routes, open us a range of very important growth opportunities for the company, in addition to consolidating our position as a relevant operator within the industry in Chile, becoming the second to open these routes on a regular basis. “For this milestone, it is that we have been preparing, materializing alliances with other companies inside and outside the region, all part of a pool of agreements we have targeted to make tangible our ambitious expansion plan in America”, said Andrés Dulcinelli, general manager of Latin American Wings.
LAW flights would be operated with Boeing 757-200 and Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, and the schedule is as follows:
- Santiago–Caracas–Miami. Mondays and Fridays. Departs from Santiago at 22:00 and arrives Miami in the morning. Begins on January 15.
- Miami-Caracas-Santiago. Tuesdays and Saturdays. Departs from Miami at 11:30.
- Santiago–Caracas–New York. Thursdays and Sundays. Departs from Santiago at 06:00. Begins on January 18.
- New York-Caracas-Santiago. Thursdays and Sundays. Departs from New York at 20:35.
