The low cost airline now allows to fly from the Greater Los Angeles Area to Denver, San Antonio and Austin.
Frontier Airlines has launched three new routes from Ontario International Airport (ONT), known until November 2016 as “LA/Ontario”, located 61 kilometers east of downtown Los Angeles, California.
The routes include two cities in the state of Texas, Austin and San Antonio, which are currently not flown by any airline; And a third route to the capital of Colorado, Denver, that is already operated by Southwest Airlines and United Airlines.
Mark Thorpe, CEO of Ontario Airport, on the first flight to Austin that had the flight number F9 1923, said: “Our headquarters, on the other side of the airport, are on 1923 East Avion. I take that as a sign of very good luck. I think we’re going to have more than just good luck, we’re going to have a very successful operation here by Frontier.”
The routes and frequencies are as follows:
- Austin–Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). 3 Flights weekly. Operated with Airbus A320 aircraft.
- San Antonio International Airport (SAT). 4 Flights weekly. Operated with Airbus A320 aircraft.
- Denver International Airport (DEN). Daily flights. Operated with Airbus A319 aircraft.
