Flights cancelled and diverted at Brisbane Airport by fog

More than 100 flights affected by thick fog this Friday at Brisbane Airport, in Australia. The Brisbane International Airport has been affected by a very thick fog that started at 8pm last Friday and continued during Saturday, described by a Airport spokeswoman as incredibly unusual. At least 30 flights were diverted to the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney, and others 80 flights were cancelled. Authorities at the airport recommended passengers to keep in close contact with their airline for updates.

Today Saturday, many flights were cancelled, diverted or delayed because of fog at Auckland International Airport (AKL), in New Zealand. The airport said 47 domestic regional flights had been cancelled, and 42 domestic regional flights had been delayed. A MetService spokesman recently said the fog was forecast to lift between 10am and midday, before descending again at midnight.
