Cargo plane suffers runway excursion in Canada

The incident happened when the aircraft landed in Halifax. Its four occupants were not injured.

A Boeing 747-412F plane and registration N908AR, belonging to the airline Sky Lease Cargo, suffered a runway excursion after landing at the Halifax-Stanfield International Airport (YHZ), in eastern Canada.

The aircraft took off from Chicago O’Hare Airport (ORD) at 01:02 local time and was ready to land on runway 14 in Halifax at 05:05 local time.

For reasons that are unknown, there was a runway excursion that took the Boeing 200 meters beyond the end of it, through a grass slope and impacting with some antennas.

The aircraft suffered damage in the fuselage, internal engines and landing gear, but its four occupants were not injured.
