The incident happened last Thursday when the aircraft was ready to take off from Riberalta, Bolivia.
An Airchild SA227-DC Metro 23 and registration CP 2459, belonging to the airline Amaszonas, suffered an incident on March 29 as it prepared to take off from the city of Riberalta, in northern Bolivia.
The twin-engine aircraft carried 12 passengers and 2 crew between the Riberalta Airport (RIB) and the Trinidad Airport (TDD), both in the Department of Beni. As the plane rolled down the runway, at 9:30 local time, it hit a flock of birds causing it to run off runway before taking off and stopping in a small ravine.
Of all its occupants, only one was transferred to the hospital due to leg injuries.
The General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC, for its acronym in Spanish) temporarily suspended the licenses of the crew and has already begun an investigation.
