Flights cancelled and diverted at Brisbane Airport by fog

More than 100 flights affected by thick fog this Friday at Brisbane Airport, in Australia. The Brisbane International Airport has been affected by a very thick fog that started at 8pm last Friday and continued during Saturday, described by a Airport spokeswoman as incredibly unusual. At least 30 flights were diverted to the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney, and others 80 flights were cancelled. Authorities at the airport recommended passengers to keep in close contact with their airline for updates.

AirAsia flight diverted to Brisbane after bird strike

A flight of AirAsia X was diverted to Brisbane on Monday night after a bird strike. There were no injured. The flight D7207 took off from Gold Coast Airport, in Australia, about 10:20pm on Monday night and minutes later the passengers heard bangs and saw flames coming from the right engine. The aircraft, an Airbus with 345 passengers and 14 cabin crew which was on the route to Kuala Lumpur, should be diverted to Brisbane, where landed safely at 11:33pm local time.
