The last flight of the Queen of the Skies operated the United Flight UA747 between San Francisco and Honolulu, in the United States, putting an end to 47 years of history in jumbo´s jet flights for the airline.
The Boeing 747-400 and registration N118UA departed from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) yesterday, an hour late at 12:00 local time due to an issue with the conditioning valves, and arrived to Honolulu Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) at 15:00 local time.
United began to fly with the 747´s in 1970, inaugurating the aircraft on the San Francisco-Honolulu route in the month of July. The airplane N118UA and Manufacturer Serial Number 28811, was delivered new to the United in 1999.
The 747 planes stop flying to be replaced by the Boeing 777-300ER, with 10 of the that in its fleet and 4 more due in the year 2018.
