The airline Cathay Pacific has signed an agreement with Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings for the wet-lease of two B747-8F from its Atlas Air unit.
AAWH said in a statement the new B747-8F service is scheduled to begin this month of May, with the aircraft being deployed to supplement capacity on the existing network of Cathay Pacific Cargo.
“This agreement underscores the strength of our cargo operations and our commitment to enhance the frequency of our services across our expanding global network,” Cathay Pacific Director Cargo Simon Large said. “We are very pleased to be able to provide our customers with increased options, flexibility, and convenience and look forward to developing a long-term partnership with Atlas Air Worldwide.”
Cathay Pacific Cargo currently works with one B747-400BCF, six B747-400ERF, and fourteen B747-8F.
