An Airbus A380 of Air France loses part of an engine in mid-flight

The aircraft headed from Paris to Los Angeles made an emergency landing in Canada.

An airplane Airbus A380-800 registration F-HPJE, belonging to Air France, suffered an explosion in the engine 4, which destroyed the front covering of the same causing damage to the right wing.

The Air France Flight AF66 departed from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and was heading to Los Ángeles International Airport(LAX). Due to the emergency, the plane landed at 13:40 local time at Goose Bay Canadian Forces Base (YYR), located on the East coast of the country.

There were no injured by the incident, and Air France sent two planes to pick up the passengers and take them to the city of Los Angeles.
