The Spanish airline Air Europa will start its new route from Madrid, Spain, to Recife, capital of Pernambuco State, in the northeast of Brazil.
Last Friday news was released by the Globalia, matrix of Air Europa, where stood out the intention of the company to strengthen its presence in South America and “contribute to strengthening of its tourist potential”.
Flights between the Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) and the Recife-Guararapes International Airport (REC) will be operated with Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
The first flight will be on December 20 with a frequency of two weekly flights, although there are intentions of adding a third during the year 2018.
The new route will provide better connections between the Brazilian Northeast and Europe, in addition to promoting tourism in the region of Pernambuco.
Recife had 1.555.039 inhabitants in 2012 and with 482 years is the oldest city in Brazil.
